Walters Art Museum

William Thompson Walters and his son Henry Walters, began collecting art and antiques in the mid-19th century. Their collection evolved into this public museum that now encompasses 4 beautiful mansions in the Mount Vernon neighborhood. With a Tiffany Rotunda and one of the largest Fabergé collections in the world, this free museum is located right next to the original Washington Monument and across the square from the architecturally phenomenal Peabody Library - worth sticking your head in to see it.
